Leadership

A 40-hour commitment that sees individuals gain a level 2 accredited qualification in leadership. We offer a number of variations, both virtual and face to face options are provided.  The programme focuses on three aspects that begin with recognising our environments and beginning to understand them, we do this by looking at boundaries and safeguarding. Self-reflection is a strong theme throughout the course.  With 27-hour face to face learning and the remaining 13 hours being made up of self-reflection and exploration. The course focuses on leadership on an individual level, improving who we are as individuals while recognising and respecting diversity. Once we have established who we are and how we behave we look at how we impact others.  Finally, we explore how we can reflect on what we deem is ‘wrong’ about our past, and use is as something ‘strong’ for employers.

The face to face course is an intensive three-day event.  The virtual course is a softer approach, delivered over 12 weeks at 3.5 hours a week.

Introduction to ABCD & CHIME

A level 1 qualification as a first introduction to Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) and CHIME. Groups are encouraged to map assets within their wider communities, identifying strengths, skills, assets and what the community already has in terms of resource.

The course consists of a one-day workshop that is designed to introduce the delegates to the ABCD approach before looking at our own organisations and teams to identify if they CHIME. CHIME relates to the effectiveness of a team or group to work together for greater performance and improved quality outputs.

Asset Based Community Development

An introduction to ABCD and the 5 ways to wellbeing. Mapping assets within the group and their wider community, identifying strengths/skills/assets and what the local community has in terms of resource.

A one day workshop that is designed to introduce the delegates to the ABCD approach. The day consists of mapping assets and skills and local community business/faith sector/treatment providers/local commissioning/CIC/LTD Companies/Local assets and resources through interactive workshops and brainstorming localities.

Service User Involvement & Community Group Development

A monthly training day. This is designed to unite the LUF Leaders and to provide space for accountability, also to pass on vital learning from previous chairs by way of structured sessions. Within this development the delegates will do a personality profile and self-identify their positions within the LUF based on their profile. Build upon their own strengths by way of a SWOT analysis and learn about the 5 dysfunctions of a team. Once the volunteers have identified the functionality within the team the drive to function as a team is inevitable. The aim is to function effectively by way of interactive sessions, self-scoring questionnaires’’, debate, discussion and development plans.

Speaker Bootcamp

Our level 1 accredited, Speaker Bootcamp course focuses on confidence building and is delivered in-house by our very own Red Rose training team; participants are given the confidence to speak and deliver a key message through public speaking.

Speaker Bootcamp is a one-day workshop designed to teach delegates the skills required to deliver a key note speech effectively and stick to a main message through out. This workshop consists of standing and delivering short speeches several times throughout the day, empowering delegates, building confidence in their delivery while feedback is provided to highlight and address idiosyncrasies (habits).

Drug Awareness Training

An interactive one-day training workshop, providing a level 3 accredited qualification in Drug Awareness. The training is designed to teach delegates, preferably individuals with line management responsibility or responsibility for others, how to identify the vital signs of drug use.  The course looks at the cause of drug use and the conditions surrounding several current and former drug trends.  This is a visual and kinaesthetic learning experience that explores over 24 different drugs to become aware of.  The learning enables leaders to begin to understand why drugs are misused and to encourage new avenues of supporting active users.

Boundaries Training

A one-day workshop that is designed to build an understanding of boundaries to enable individuals to recognise and appreciate the importance of safety in all aspects of their lives, especially when volunteering as part of either Lancashire User Forum (LUF) or Red Rose Recovery. The aim is to raise awareness of boundaries and attachments when working with service users as a volunteer or a staff member is of paramount importance when forming helping relationships. This one-day training course aims to raise awareness by the effective use of interactive sessions, scenarios, role play and discussion.

Train the Trainer

An on-going quality development supervision that is designed to enable the advanced volunteer who has undergone all the above training and wishes to progress onto delivering the training within their community. This training consists of planning dates to deliver the one-day workshops for a period of time whilst they are quality assessed, once they are signed of they can progress to train in their locality and deliver to the volunteers. The aim of this is to gain the skills required as a result of the above training, enhance CV’s and apply for jobs, move on and evolve into paid work.
